Seven local players on Hancock football team

Four 2011 San Luis Obispo County high school graduates were listed on Allan Hancock College’s football roster released Tuesday.

The local Bulldog freshmen are Anthony Maez (a quarterback from San Luis Obispo High), Aaron Ley (linebacker, Arroyo Grande), Griffin Soto (guard, Arroyo Grande) and Chris Reed (defensive lineman, Nipomo).

In addition, three county prep products from the 2010 class also are newcomers to Hancock this year: Duane Hanna (a linebacker/running back from Nipomo who had signed with Sacramento State coming out of high school), Tanner Hinek (a defensive lineman from Arroyo Grande who spent one year at Mid-America Nazarene University in Kansas) and Cameron Teofilo (a defensive end from Nipomo).

The Bulldogs, coming off a 3-7 season in 2010, open at home against Santa Barbara City College at 6 p.m. Saturday.
