A big-rig truck failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 1 and Oso Flaco Road south of Nipomo this morning, and a Grover Beach woman driving south on the highway could not avoid crashing into the truck, the CHP said. One passenger in her vehicle suffered major injuries.
Adan Pulido Ruelas, 44, of Santa Maria, was driving his truck west on Oso Flaco at 4:57 a.m. According to the CHP, he was driving at 57 mph when he came to the stop sign at the intersection. He could not stop in time to avoid the Explorer driven by the Grover Beach woman, who was not identified by the CHP in a news release.
