The Pacifica Hotel chain has acquired Pelican Inn & Suites on Moonstone Beach Drive in Cambria from Moonstone Hotels.
The ownership changed last month, according to former Pelican manager George Marschall, who has remained with the Moonstone group. Terms were not disclosed.
The 48-room Pelican Inn has a four-diamond rating from AAA.
Pacifica already owned two other Moonstone Beach Drive motels the Best Western Fireside Inn and FogCatcher Inn. The Santa Barbara-based firm also owns Holiday Inn Express in San Luis Obispo; Spyglass Inn Cottage Inn and Sandcastle Inn in Pismo Beach; three hotels in the San Diego area; and one hotel each in Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, Marina del Rey, Laguna Beach, Florida and Hawaii. Pacifica also manages a hotel in Santa Barbara and another in Hermosa Beach.
Moonstone Hotels, owned by Dirk Winter of Cambria, owns Cambria Pines Lodge, Sea Otter Inn and Cambria Nursery & Florist in Cambria and two Oregon resorts and is a partner in two Monterey Bay area hotels.
