The Country Diner has new hours and another new treat to offer: frozen yogurt and toppings. Linda Mora announced that the restaurant is now open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Brunch will still be served from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

San Miguel's Country Diner is now serving frozen yogurt
The Amigos de Los Ninos, which has supported children in the North County for more than 55 years, is sadly disbanding. Its main source of income has been a Thrift Shop first opened in Paso Robles and then moved to San Miguel several years ago. Store equipment will be given to the Boys and Girls Club of North SLO County, which plans to open its own thrift store. Los Ninos’ last day in business is Friday, Aug. 26. Everything in the store is on sale. They are no longer taking donations. They are grateful to their many volunteers and customers for their many years of support.
Volunteers needed for Lillian Larsen Farm-to-School Program
Plans are being made for proceeding with the Lillian Larsen Farm-to-School Program garden expansion, and volunteer help is needed. If you want to be part of this excellent and beneficial project, a meeting is being held on Monday at 7 p.m. at the school staff lounge. The school is located at 1601 L St. For information, call Laverne at 467-3467.
Lions Club Old Timers Picnic coming up
The annual Lions Club Old Timers Picnic featuring a chicken barbecue will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28, from noon to 3 p.m. at the park on K Street. It honors the pioneers of the area and is traditionally the first event attended by Pioneer Day royalty. Those older than 80 are treated to a free dinner. Mike will be there to take names for next year’s calendar.
