Two suspects in drive-by shooting in Paso Robles are arrested

June 23, 2011

Two men have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting Friday night in Paso Robles.

Richard Quntan Garcia, 19, of Bradley and Steven Douglas Durrett, 21, of Paso Robles were arrested Wednesday, according to Paso Robles police.

On Friday, a man was shot as he stood in the 100 block of Santa Ynez Road, according to police. He suffered a non-life-threatening wound to his left leg, and was treated at a local hospital and released.

The shooting likely stemmed from a road rage incident earlier that day, according to investigators. Garcia and Durrett are believed to be connected to gangs in King City, police said.

Garcia and Durrett were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, conspiracy and participation in a criminal street gang. Both men were booked into County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
