A Cal Poly mathematics major received a big surprise with the appearance of her brother at her graduation Saturday at Spanos Stadium. Jessica Freedman was greeted by Eric Freedman, a U.S. Marine who had been stationed in Afghanistan. She didn’t expect him to attend the commencement, and he flew home just in time to see her receive her diploma on stage. She said it was “awesome and shocking to see (her) brother.”
