Paso Robles police allege that a local registered sex offender had sex with or molested three teen girls he met online.
After a six-week investigation, the Paso Robles Police Department announced Wednesday that it is asking the San Luis Obispo County District Attorneys Office to file criminal charges against Shaun Harrison, 25, of Paso Robles.
Police Lt. Ty Lewis said Harrison has been in custody since April 6 in Wasco State Prison, north of Bakersfield, for parole violations.
He said his department is seeking charges of sexual intercourse with a minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a child and molesting a minor.
According to police, Harrison contacted girls as young as age 13 by using social media such as Facebook and MySpace.
He also visited adults-only dating sites such as Zoosk and PlentyofFish.com, police said.
It is possible that one of the victims lied about her age to get on those sites, Lewis said.
Harrison is a registered sex offender because of a conviction for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under age 14, according to the states Megans Law database.
The database lists him as living at the River Lodge Motel on Theatre Drive off Highway 46.
A search of his computer files and cell phone records revealed that Harrison had several usernames, including Shaun Harrison, Shaun Robert and sk8erboy805, according to police.
He met with the three purported victims at various locations, Lewis said.
