A day after clinching the No. 2 seed in the Big West Conference tournament, the Cal Poly women’s tennis team closed the regular season with a 4-3 nonconference road victory against Fresno State on Sunday.

Freshman Kathryn Webb won a three-set match at No. 6 singles to give the Mustangs the victory in a dual that took close to 41⁄2 hours to play six singles matches and three doubles sets.

Cal Poly swept all three doubles sets and got singles victories from Webb, Florence Lehane and Jennifer Cornea, who came back down 5-2 in the first set to defeat the Bulldogs’ Bianca Modoc 7-5, 6-3.

The Big West Conference Championships begin April 28 in Indian Wells.
