A multitude of events is planned for this weekends Polywood-themed Open House at Cal Poly including the annual parade, tractor pull and design competition.
The 18th annual Open House runs Thursday through Saturday, featuring numerous activities open to the public, including events for families.
Prospective students and their families will also be on campus and in town to learn about academic programs and acquaint themselves with the campus.
Members of student clubs will gather at the Thursday night Farmers Market in downtown San Luis Obispo to showcase their endeavors and meet with the public.
Friday and Saturdays events will include campus tours both days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting every hour from the University Union plaza.
Saturdays activities begin with the Poly Royal Parade from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Perimeter Road.
The annual truck and tractor pull event will take place Saturday at 1 p.m. across from the Crops Unit on Mount Bishop Road.
The design competition, which tasks students with building innovative structures, takes place Saturday from 10 to 4 p.m. in Poly Canyon.
The Polywood theme includes a welcome of admitted students with a Walk the Red Carpet event Friday from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the University Union where students will get to know each other and participate in games and activities while parents enjoy a coffeehouse event.
