Hop on a US Airways plane this month, and the in-flight magazine will take you right back home again: The area being highlighted in a 24-page, photo-packed color feature is San Luis Obispo County.
The publication is only for ticket-holders, but others can find it online at http://usairwaysmag.com/city_profiles/city/san_luis_obispo_ca/.
From the aerial photo of the coastline near Ragged Point taken from a helicopter by Cambria photographer Joseph Dominguez to a retrospective about Hearst Castle, the feature profiles various segments of the county, including San Luis Obispo, the city proclaimed the happiest place in North America in a recent book.
Author Cheryl Crabtree highlighted the countys climate, communities, colleges and character, along with local history, recreational opportunities, industries, vineyards and visions. She also showcased villages and volunteers, parks, and, of course, more than 100 miles of prime Pacific coastline.
Highlights range from Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort near Avila Beach, Harris Stage Lines stagecoach ride in Paso Robles and the Cayucos Abalone Farm to the countys farmers markets, San Simeons zebras, biking through Corbett Canyon, and Morro Bay Golf Course, the poor mans Pebble Beach.
