A San Luis Obispo man was arrested early today on suspicion of attempted murder, after he allegedly tortured and assaulted a 26-year-old woman last week.
Officers spotted Tommy Ledbetter, 46, just after midnight walking through a cemetery in the 3000 block of South Higuera St.
Police had been looking for him since April 1, after receiving a report that a homeless woman had been assaulted at 145 South St.
The woman was found walking through the neighborhood with injuries including serious cuts and bruises to her head, chest and arms, according to police. Police obtained a $750,000 warrant for Ledbetters arrest Tuesday.
Police say Ledbetter had methamphetamine and a controlled prescription narcotic on him when he was arrested.
Ledbetter was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, torture, assault with a deadly weapon and drug charges. He was booked into County Jail in lieu of $750,000 bail.
