The event, organized by Transitions-Mental Health Association, includes a panel discussion on recovery and living mentally well.
Hines, his father, and other consumers and service providers will participate in the discussion.
About 30 vendors will offer information on mental health resources in the community.
This event is co-sponsored by the Central Coast Psychological Association and is funded by the Mental Health Services Act through San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health Services.
It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at New Life Church, 990 James Way in Pismo Beach. The event is free and no RSVP is required.

SLO County
A discussion about the presence of gangs in San Luis Obispo County schools will be Monday at the county Office of Education.
Marci Powers, head of the county’s Anti-Gang Coordinating Commission, will also discuss strategies to prevent gangs from becoming entrenched in the area and give tips on identifying gang activity.
The commission was organized to help prevent youth from joining gangs, to find services for families and youth that provide prevention and intervention, and to try to close gaps in services.
Powers will speak for about 15 minutes and then answer questions. The presentation starts at 6 p.m. at 3350 Education Drive off Highway 1.

SLO County
The Women’s Community Center provides two types of clinics for people thinking about or going through a divorce.
An informal class titled How to Survive Divorce addresses practical tips for handling family law issues.
It is offered the third Wednesday of each month at the San Luis Obispo Women’s Community Center, 1124 Nipomo St., Ste. D. A $10 donation is requested.
A legal clinic is held at 5:30 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month for self-represented litigants.
Only people without an attorney may access the one-on-one legal advice and document preparer.
The next clinic will be Tuesday at the San Luis Obispo County Courthouse Law Library, 1050 Monterey St. A minimum $40 donation is requested.
