Paso Robles woman arrested in connection with infant daughter's death

January 10, 2011

A Paso Robles woman was arrested Saturday in connection with the death of her infant daughter last June.

Erin Christine Martin, 42, was arrested on suspicion of murder and assault on a child causing death.

On June 16, Martin called 911 because her 3-month-old daughter was unresponsive, according to a news release from the Paso Robles Police Department.

Emergency workers tried to save the baby, and took her by ambulance to a local hospital. The baby girl was later transferred to a hospital in Santa Barbara County and placed on life support. She died two days later.

Investigators from the Paso Robles Police Department and the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office determined Martin was responsible for the injuries that led to the infant's death, according to the press release.
