Police arrested a San Luis Obispo man for allegedly attempting to rob Chase Bank in downtown San Luis Obispo at 11:38 a.m. Monday.

Denardo James, 26, walked into the bank at 1235 Chorro St. and ordered everyone onto the floor, San Luis Obispo police said. He then left the bank, without any cash, and fled on foot.

Officers found him a short distance from the bank and arrested him on suspicion of robbery. James was booked into County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bail.
