Biz Buzz: PG&E pitches in to Octagon Barn

December 20, 2010

PG&E has donated $10,000 for the restoration of the Octagon Barn milking parlor.

The historic Octagon Barn and associated milking parlor are on South Higuera Street, just south of the San Luis Obispo city limit.

The money will be used for the first phase of construction, including structural redesign, planning, permitting and engineering to maximize the educational potential of the parlor building, which is adjacent to the barn.

Once complete, the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County will make the parlor available to the community for educational purposes and room space rentals.

The donation was announced at a recent holiday lighting ceremony. Restoration work is expected to start next year.
