Hasay named top Pac-10 women's cross country athlete

December 1, 2010

Mission Prep grad and Arroyo Grande native Jordan Hasay was named the Pac-10 Conference Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year on Wednesday.

Hasay, a sophomore at Oregon, won the Pac-10 6K title in 19 minutes, 44.95 seconds Oct. 30 and then the NCAA West Regional championship in 20:01.90 on Nov. 13. She is the first Duck woman to win the Pac-10’s top honor since 1991.

At the NCAA Championships on Nov. 22, Hasay was third with a time of 20:13.0 — the best finish by a Ducks runner since 1991.

Last year, Hasay was named the conference’s newcomer of the year.
