One of Americas top interactive advertising agencies, Rosetta, has acquired LEVEL Studios of San Luis Obispo, which specializes in digital integrated marketing and product development. The purchase price and terms of the transaction were not publicly disclosed.
Rosetta is headquartered in Princeton, N.J., with offices in New York, Cleveland, Denver, Boston, Chicago and Toronto. The company is the nations largest independent digital and direct interactive advertising agency.
Joining forces with LEVEL Studios moves Rosetta into the top five digital advertising agencies in the U.S., the company said.
LEVEL Studios President and CEO Tom Adamski said the move benefits not only LEVELs clients and employees but also the community.
LEVEL Studios has been on a very strong growth trajectory level, he said. We grew 60 percent in 2009. Were going to grow 80 percent in 2010, and we expect a pretty aggressive growth year in 2011. So this is really not a consolidation move in any way.
While not offering specifics, Adamski said that the merger could lead to further hiring, which would benefit students coming out of Cal Poly and UCSB.
LEVEL Studios has three California locations: the San Luis Obispo headquarters, Los Angeles and San Jose. The company will retain its current management team through 2011 and will operate as LEVEL, a Rosetta Co.
The San Luis Obispo work force consists of 140 people; another 80 are employed between the San Jose and Los Angeles offices.
With the acquisition, Rosetta will have estimated 2010 gross revenues of $215 million, more than 1,000 employees and 10 offices in the U.S. and Canada.
