  Hoping to cut costs and reduce medical errors, Central Coast hospitals are changing the way medical records are stored and accessed.

  Tenet Healthcare, which owns Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo and Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, went live with its electronic record keeping in September.

  Catholic Healthcare West, which owns Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, French Hospital Medical Center and Marian Medical Center of Santa Maria, began its transition to digital record keeping in December 2010.

  Far Western Tavern in Guadalupe, which has won numerous awards for its steak and barbecue, is moving to Old Town Orcutt in May or June next year.

  Lack of weekday business volume and a pending costly retrofit of its building in Guadalupe prompted the decision to relocate, according to general manager Michael Cordsen.

  The restaurant will continue to seat a total of about 250 people at the new Clark Avenue site at Pacific and Clark streets in Orcutt, he said.

  A family-owned propane marketer in Paso Robles has created a new division and brand to market its clean-energy “autogas” at California gas stations.

  Arro Autogas, a part of Delta Liquid Energy, now operates four public propane autogas fueling locations in San Luis Obispo County and two in the Los Angeles area, with plans to have 10 fueling stations by the end of the year.

  Delta Liquid Energy, co-owned by the Platz family of Atascadero, has been in business since 1936 and has always sold engine fuel propane, also called autogas.

  State regulators have placed a restriction on Central Coast Brewing in San Luis Obispo that forbids the business from serving beer in glasses larger than four ounces.

  The Monterey Street business said it was told it was in violation of that order on Oct. 14. It has since stopped serving pints — for now.

  Central Coast Brewing is operating under its original license, which was approved by the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control in 1998. It states that the brewery is not allowed to sell alcohol for consumption on the premises and is permitted to serve beer only in small taster glasses.

  Biz Buzz: Mission Community Bank repays TARP money

  Mission Community Bank has repaid $5.1 million to the U.S. Treasury Department, repurchasing all 5,116 shares issued under the Troubled Asset Relief Program’s Capital Purchase Program.

  Mission Community Bancorp, parent company for the bank, on Dec. 28 paid a total of $5,146,554 to the Treasury, consisting of $5,116,000 in principal and $30,554 in accrued and unpaid dividends, according to a news release from the company.

  Since the original federal investment in January 2009, the Treasury earned dividends of $759,584 from the bank, in addition to a full return of the original $5.1 million investment.
