Temperatures on Monday ranged from 99 degrees in Paso Robles and Atascadero to 97 at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo — the latter breaking the day’s record of 93 degrees set in 1926, local forecaster John Lindsey of Pacific Gas and Electric Co. said.

Southern parts of the county were also hot: Avila Beach reached 92 degrees, and Grover Beach hit 95.

Today is also expected to be hot, and North County areas “should hit the century mark,” Lindsey said.

Parts of the county will get a reprieve Wednesday, as a dry cold front moves down the California coastline, bringing fog and low clouds with it to the beaches and coastal valleys. However, hot weather will continue in the North County.

Thursday afternoon, strong onshore winds will increase, bringing cooler temperatures to the region through the weekend.
