Two group campsites at Pfeiffer Big Sur park to reopen Friday
A pair of group campsites at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park closed for years because of a waterline break will reopen Friday, State Parks announced today.Only tent camping is allowed at the sites in a redwood area of the park across the highway from its main entrance. Up to 35 people are allowed at each site for a fee of $150 per night. Dogs are not allowed.Reservations for Group Camp Site A and Group Camp Site B may be made through Reserve America by phone at 800-444-PARK and online at www.reserveamerica.com.Pfeiffer Big Sur is 73 miles north of Cambria on Highway 1.For park information, call 831-667-2315 or go to www.parks.ca.gov.
