Staples of teen life today iPods and cell phones, Facebook and Twitter, flip-flops and blue jeans took a back seat Thursday to the annual slice of Americana at the Mid-State Fair when the swine, goat and sheep showmanship contests were held. The competitors were nervous as they paraded their animals before the judges. When it was over, the animals went back to their pens, show clothes were put away, and thumbs once again raced over electronic devices.
