Leadoff hitter A.J. Robinson was 3 for 5 with two runs scored, and the San Luis Obispo Blues never trailed Friday in downing the Santa Barbara Foresters 6-3 in a summer collegiate baseball game.
Matt Juengel had two hits for the Blues (26-14, 20-10 California Collegiate League), and Rafael Nada drove in two runs.
San Luis Obispo led 2-0 after three innings, took a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth and put the game away with two runs in the top of the seventh for a 6-1 lead.
Blues starting pitcher Justin Lindsey allowed four hits, struck out five and walked three in 51⁄3 innings to get the win. Matt Freeman struck out five in three innings of relief before Sean Johnson threw the final one-third of an inning for his ninth save.
Santa Maria Valley Packers 5, SLO Rattlers 4
Chris Mallory had five hits and scored the winning run on a two-out double by Wade Hinkle in the top of the 11th inning to give the Santa Maria Valley Packers the win over the San Luis Obispo Rattlers.
Mitchell Prophet, Gabe Loweree and Scott Phillion all had two hits for the Rattlers (17-22, 7-21 CCL).
