The San Luis Obispo Blues were shut out for the second consecutive night in a 2-0 loss to Team Vegas during the first day of the 2010 Rawlings California Cup at SLO Stadium.
The Blues (18-11) were held to just six singles, as Cal State Fullerton product Austin Kingsolver was the only San Luis Obispo player to record two hits.
Team Vegas (9-12) scored two runs off Blues starting pitcher Brock Duke in the second inning. Duke allowed two runs on five hits in 4 2⁄3 innings while striking out seven and walking two.
Caleb Reed, Dukes replacement, allowed three hits in 3 1⁄3 while striking out six.
A.J. Robinson, Rafael Neda, Dylan Gavin and Cory Burleson had the other hits for San Luis Obispo.
The Blues are co-hosting the Rawlings California Cup with the Santa Barbara Foresters and are scheduled to continue tournament play at 7 this evening against either the Santa Maria Packers or the Orange County Pioneers at SLO Stadium.
