The CHP has identified the driver killed in the Sunday crash on Oso Flaco Road as Julian Nicasio Paz, 24, of Santa Maria.
Nicasio Paz was traveling west along Oso Flaco Road just west of Highway 1 at 3:19 p.m. at high speed, the CHP confirmed Tuesday.
As he crossed a set of railroad tracks, his 1997 Ford F-150 went out of control, ran off the roadway and rolled several times.
The driver did not appear to be restrained and was ejected from his vehicle as it rolled, the CHP reported in a news release.
Paramedics found Nicasio Paz under his truck and resuscitated him before rushing him to Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria, where he later died, the CHP said.
Alcohol appears to have played a factor in this collision, the CHP said.
Investigators ask that anyone who might have witnessed the crash or who knows the driver call the CHP at 593-3300.
