A Central Coast charity is one of four finalists for a $100,000 grant.
If selected, Project Surf Camp which is based in Morro Bay -- could receive $100,000 from the Pepsi Refresh Project. The What Do You Care About TODAY? contest is co-sponsored by NBCs Today Show.
Founded by Paso Robles teacher John Taylor, Project Surf Camp uses surfing and other ocean activities to build self-confidence and self-esteem in individuals with special needs.
The other three finalists for the Pepsi grant are the Bay Area Food Bank in Theodore, Ala., Urban ArtWorks in Seattle and Gateway Greening in St. Louis.
