Arroyo Grande man convicted of weapons crimes sentenced to four years
The Arroyo Grande man convicted last month of weapons-related crimes was sentenced Friday to four years in state prison.Howard Alan Krinsky, 62, was sentenced by Judge Michael Duffy after arguments were made by Krinksy’s attorney, Guy Galambos, and prosecutor Karen Gray.Krinsky was convicted May 21 of six counts of crimes relating to firearms, including illegal weapons possession and sale of machine guns. His lawyer sought probation; Krinsky faced a maximum of eight years and eight months in prison.Galambos said Krinsky was a collector of firearms and did nothing intentionally wrong and a friend, Alan Garrison, made illegal sales of his weapons without Krinsky’s knowledge. But Gray said that Krinsky is a danger to society and that he knowingly associated with Garrison, who is serving a six-year sentence for an illegal gun sales conviction.--Nick Wilson
