One man was killed Friday evening in a three-vehicle wreck on Highway 46 near Shandon.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriffs Sgt. Dale Strobridge said the man was waiting to turn onto Highway 46 from McMillan Canyon Road about 6 p.m. when the sedan he was driving was struck from behind and pushed into traffic.
His sedan was then struck by a pickup truck towing a trailer, Strobridge said. The man was alone in the car and died at the scene.
Deputies and CHP officers remained at the scene at 7:30 p.m. Traffic on the eastbound lanes was blocked, according to the CHP.
One other person was taken by ambulance to Twin Cities Community Hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known, but Strobridge said they were not believed to be life threatening.
No other serious injuries were reported.
The mans name and hometown were not immediately available.
