A registered sex offender who was the subject of a warning from the Sheriff's Department was arrested Wednesday evening in Templeton.
Billy Gene Mannon, 50, of Templeton was arrested after the mother of two female juveniles reported two alleged encounters between him and her daughters.
The alleged incidents did not involve physical contact, according to the Sheriff's Department, but the woman reported Mannon staring at and possibly following one of the girls in a car.
Authorities posted fliers in Templeton on Wednesday alerting the public to Mannon's presence after he was reportedly seen parked in an area where the Templeton High School girls cross-country team runs.
He was arrested March 10 on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. He had been released pending his court appearance, sheriff's officials said Wednesday, but now remains in County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail for the new charges.
Mannon's registered sex offender status is linked to a 1986 conviction for "oral copulation with force, violence, etc." in Los Angeles, according to authorities.
