SACRAMENTO, Calif. A new report says teachers, public employee unions, Indian tribes and corporations are among the biggest contributors to California political campaigns.
The report, titled Big Money Talks, was released Wednesday by the California Fair Political Practices Commission. It lists the top 25 interest groups that together spent more than $1.3 billion over the last 10 years influencing politicians, voters and ballot campaigns. The California Teachers Association led the overall spending with $211.8 million.
