SLO County
Voters who are not affiliated with a qualified political party in California will be able to vote in the June 2010 Direct Primary Election.
More than 12,000 postcards are being sent to unaffiliated voters who also vote by mail so they can notify the elections office about their choice of ballot for the June election. Voters are asked to return the postcard indicating their choice by March 16 so the voter record can be updated to ensure voters receive the correct ballot.
A list of partisan candidates is available on the Secretary of State’s Web site.

Big Sur
Delays on Highway 1 at the south end of Big Sur have been cut from 2 hours to 1 hour, Caltrans announced Tuesday.
Crews are working to clear a rockslide that blocked the highway early Friday at Alder Creek, south of Gorda.
The road will be closed from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
All businesses in the area remain open to the public, including Hearst Castle, about 20 miles to the south.

Atascadero
Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee will hold mobile office hours today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Atascadero City Hall, 6907 El Camino Real.
The hours are open to the public and no appointment is necessary.
Blakeslee, R-San Luis Obispo, and his staff will be available to help people work with state agencies, discuss concerns and help constituents become more involved in state government.

- Do not copy and paste outside material into the comment box.
- Don't repeat the same comment over and over. We heard you the first time.
- Do not use the commenting system for advertising. That's spam and it isn't allowed.
- Don't use all capital letters. That's akin to yelling and not appreciated by the audience.
