Assembly candidate Hilda Zacarias will be honored at a Pre-Valentine Ladies Night Out of wine and jewelry at the Tolosa Winery on Friday.
The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the winery’s heritage room, 4910 Edna Road, San Luis Obispo.
Tickets, which cost $8, are available at the door.
Zacarias is the only Democrat running for the 33rd District Assembly seat that will be vacated by Republican Sam Blakeslee after this year. He cannot run again because of term limits.
Republicans seeking the seat are San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Katcho Achadjian, Paso Robles City Councilman Fred Strong, former Santa Maria Planning Commissioner Etta Waterfield and San Luis Obispo financial planner Matt Kokkonen.

Assembly candidate Matt Kokkonen is challenging his three Republican opponents to a series of debates to be held in five cities in the 33rd Assembly District.
Kokkonen wants the debates to focus on immigration and the 14th Amendment; state sovereignty and the 10th Amendment; public employee pension reform; health care reform; and cap-and-trade and global warming.
The debates would take place in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Atascadero, Santa Maria and Lompoc.
“In my travels throughout the district,” Kokkonen wrote in an announcement of the challenge, “I find the voters deeply concerned about these issues. I believe there should be opportunities for the candidates to share their views with the public as well as discuss their solutions to these difficult problems.”
He has asked the other candidates to reply by Feb. 19.
Kokkonen, a San Luis Obispo financial planner, is running against fellow Republicans Katcho Achadjian, a San Luis Obispo County supervisor; Fred Strong, a Paso Robles city councilman; and Etta Waterfield, a former Santa Maria planning commissioner.
The winner of the June 8 primary would face the lone Democrat to announce, Santa Maria City Councilwoman Hilda Zacarias, in November’s general election.
