Authorities resumed their search Sunday of the rugged terrain between Big Sur and Fort Hunter Liggett in southern Monterey County for a San Luis Obispo man missing just over a month.
They didnt find George Carpenter, 74, who has mild symptoms of dementia, according to the Monterey County Sheriffs Department. A search could resume today depending on the weather.
Carpenter went missing on Dec. 23 after he drove to Laguna Lake Park in San Luis Obispo with his black Labrador retriever, Scooter.
The dog was found on Wednesday about seven miles inland from the coastal hamlet of Gorda off of Highway 1.
Searchers on Saturday found Carpenters 1989 Jeep Comanche near the Army National Guard installation about 50 miles northwest of Paso Robles, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
Carpenters vehicle was located in an area near 3,300 feet in elevation, according to police. Light snow was falling there Saturday, police said.
