A Nipomo man arrested Tuesday on suspicion of child molestation bailed out of jail and apparently killed himself, according to sheriff's officials.
Michael John Dominguez, 52, was arrested at his business, Shine It Auto Detail, in Oceano at 5 p.m. for alleged sex crimes against a 16-year-old, according to authorities. The molestation reportedly began when the child was 14 and continued for two years.
Dominguez, a registered sex offender, was booked into County Jail on $250,000 bail. He bailed out at 11:33 p.m. Tuesday.
At 9:13 a.m. Wednesday, Dominguez was found dead at his home at 1335 La Loma in Nipomo. Investigators believe the gunshot was self-inflicted.
Detectives are looking into whether Dominguez may have molested anyone else, and are asking potential victims or anyone with information to call 781-4500.
