The Cal Poly wrestling team got pins from Filip Novachkov and Ryan DesRoches in a 22-15 win over No. 10 Missouri in a nonconference duel meet Friday at the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo.
The No. 23 Mustangs split 10 matches against No. 10 Missouri (1-1) but claimed the only pins, and senior 157-pounder Chase Pami had the only major decision win.

Pami, who finished seventh at the NCAA Championships last year and is ranked third to start this season, outpointed Giorgio Gregoris 13-3.
Novachkov, a 141-pounder, pinned Todd Schavrien in 2 minutes, 40 seconds while DesRoches pinned Todd Porter in 2:39 in a 184-pound match.
Also winning for Cal Poly were Boris Novachkov (133 pounds) and David Christian (149).
The Mustangs (2-0) will compete in the Missouri Open on Sunday.
VOLLEYBALL
Cal Poly 3, Cal State Northridge 0
The Mustangs got match-highs in kills (12) and hitting percentage (.647) from junior middle blocker Dominique Olowolafe in a 25-18, 25-17, 25-21 victory over the Matadors on senior night in Mott Gym as Cal Poly concluded its season.
The Mustangs (9-20, 5-11 Big West Conference) graduate just one senior, setter Hailey Fithian. In her final collegiate match, Fithian posted match-highs in assists (32), digs (8) and aces (2).
Freshman middle blocker Jennifer Keddy added eight kills and a .467 hitting percentage for Cal Poly.
Britney Graff had seven kills to lead the Matadors (8-20, 4-11).
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Cuesta 61, Las Positas 54
Xavier Mylleville led Cuesta (5-0) with 18 points at the Mendocino Tournament. Mylleville sank three 3-pointers for the Cougars. Templeton High alum Seth Koenig added 17 points for Cuesta, which led 34-26 at halftime.
“We played the best first half of our season,” Cuesta head coach Rusty Blair said. “We managed to really confuse Las Positas by switching things up on defense and offense. They defeated us last year, so this was a great win.”
The Cougars remain undefeated heading into their second tournament final today, where they will face College of the Redwoods. Cuesta defeated the Corsairs 68-66 in their last matchup.
“We’re playing very well as a team,” Blair said. “Every win has been a real team effort.”
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Cal Poly Invitational
Seniors Suzie Matzenauer and Brittany Blalock led the Mustangs to eight wins in 10 matches on day one of the Cal Poly Invitational.
The duo teamed up to help the Mustangs sweep doubles play, including an 8-2 victory over San Francisco’s Alana McMahon and Julia Wartenburger.
Senior Steffi Wong and freshman Alexa Lee dropped just one game in their doubles match. Wong also won a 6-4, 6-2 decision over McMahon in singles play.
“I thought we came out and played aggressively with lots of movement at the net,” Cal Poly head coach Hugh Bream said in a release. The invitational will continue at 9 this morning.
