Increasing clouds today will lead to rain by tonight, weather forecasters are predicting.
John Lindsey, community relations representative for Pacific Gas and Electric Co. in San Luis Obispo and a local forecaster, said a storm system has developed off the Oregon coast.
It is expected to slide southward today and should pass over San Luis Obispo County by this evening.
Rainfall amounts will be slight, with between a tenth to a quarter of an inch expected, Lindsey said.
The National Weather Service expects a bit more punch, as its forecast says up to a third of an inch of rain could fall in the coastal mountains.
The storm will quickly pass through tonight, bringing with it lows in the high 30s in the North County to mid-40s in San Luis Obispo. Saturday will be partly cloudy and cool, with the high temperature in the lowto mid-60s.
The next chance for rain, Lindsey said, could come Thanksgiving night and the day after — the retail shopper’s favorite day, known as Black Friday.
