Arroyo Grande Eagles win water polo match against San Luis Obispo Tigers

The Arroyo Grande High boys water polo team got four goals apiece from Eric Marsh and Luka Vukomanovic in an 11-10 PAC 7 win over San Luis Obispo on Tuesday in Arroyo Grande.

The Eagles (18-10, 9-1) withstood a five-goal fourth quarter from San Luis Obispo (15-9, 5-4) after leading 8-5 coming in.

The Tigers were led by Kyle McAlahney, who led all scorers with five goals.

Dragan Dincic and Jeffrey Gomez added two goals each, and goalie Tommy Caffrey had seven saves for San Luis Obispo.

Righetti 19, Atascadero 5

Clarke Andros led Atascadero (12-10, 3-6 PAC 7) with three goals. Levi Adams and Chad Ponek scored one goal each. Patrick Neil made 19 saves in goal for Atascadero.

Three golfers advance

Arroyo Grande’s Stina Hansson and San Luis Obispo’s Alessia Weckenmann qualified for the second round of the CIF-Southern Section Northern Individual Regional championship after surviving the first round of cuts at the Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai.

Hansson shot an 80 and Weckenmann survived right on the cut line with an 81.

Emily Tubert of Burroughs and Danielle Kang of Westlake shared medalist honors after each carding 68s.

Of the 96 competitors, 46 moved on to the second round, which takes place Nov. 12 at the Talega Golf Course in San Clemente.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Arroyo Grande 3, Pioneer Valley 0

Rachel Ventura led Arroyo Grande (18-2, 11-0 PAC 7) with seven kills and two aces in its 25-11, 25-16, 25-7 sweep as the Eagles clinched the PAC 7 league championship.

Chelsey McKelvy added five kills, and Madi Ventura contributed 16 digs and three aces. Maggi Jo Keffury finished with 24 assists and four aces.

Paso Robles 3, Atascadero 1

Tess Rountree had 15 kills and five aces, leading the Bearcats to a 25-15, 25-20, 20-25, 25-19 home victory.

Atascadero (12-6, 7-5 PAC 7) was led by Kiah Featherstone’s 15 kills, seven digs and four blocks. Brianna Norlock added 12 digs and eight assists.

Maritza Juarez added 13 kills and two aces, and Kellie Reynolds had a match-high 43 assists for Paso Robles (14-4, 9-2 PAC 7).

San Luis Obispo 3, Righetti 0

The Tigers swept 25-23, 25-15, 26-24.

Elizabeth Culpepper had eight kills and two blocks for the Tigers (11-8, 7-4 PAC 7), and Kennedy Peters had 19 assists. Brianna Mallory had 15 digs for San Luis Obispo.

Mission Prep 3, Coast Union 0

Andrea Fernandez led Mission Prep (13-3) with 11 kills in its 25-6, 25-10, 25-16 sweep.

Kerstin Sanders followed with five aces and two kills, and Dierdre Laird finished with 12 assists and three aces. The Royals finished the with 23 aces overall.

“We had a really good serving night,” Mission Prep coach Michelle Lakey said. “We scored a majority of our points serving and, between that and our great kills from (Fernandez). We had a really great night.”

Templeton 3, Lompoc 0

Kiersten Humphries led Templeton (6-5 Los Padres League) with 10 kills in a 25-19, 25-11, 25-23 sweep.

Jane Hunt had eight kills and five aces, and Natalie Matson finished with seven kills for the Eagles.

Morro Bay 3, Cabrillo 1

Ciara Ramos led Morro Bay (8-9, 8-3 LPL) with 18 kills and 17 digs in its 25-15, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23 win.

Gabrielle Wenker and Sarah Breces had 13 and six kills, respectively. Kylie Gacad finished with 42 assists and five blocks for the Pirates.

Shandon 3, No. County Christian 0

The Outlaws swept the coast Coast Valley League match 25-10, 25-23, 25-6.

Jeanette Barrerra had 12 aces and 17 digs for Shandon, and Kellee Rendon added 10 kills and four aces.

Shandon’s Estefania Ramirez had 17 digs and five aces.

Jessica Lindquist had eight kills, and Teale Harden had eight assists for North County Christian.

Jessica Yoshida had 14 digs for the Crusaders, and Brianna Feld added eight kills.

Coastal Christian 3, Valley Christian 2

Coastal Christian prevailed 25-20, 20-25, 25-17, 22-25, 15-13.

Joanne Linstaedt had 38 assists and three aces for Coastal Christian (5-4 CVL), and Leslie Henry had 20 kills and six aces. Grace Napier had 23 digs and 18 kills, and Koral Wright added 15 digs.

San Luis Obispo 13, Arroyo Grande 5

The Tigers’ Abigail Will swept her singles matches, 6-3, 6-2, 6-0, and Tori Troesch added three more wins — 6-2, 6-0, 6-0.

Alex Coffman and Lili Voisinet gave the Tigers (12-0 PAC 7) two doubles wins. Kimmy Turner and Brianna Flood had two doubles wins for the Eagles (11-6, 8-4 PAC 7).

Atascadero 12, Righetti 6

Rhiannon Dudley led Atascadero (7-7, 5-7 PAC 7), sweeping her three singles matches 6-2, 6-1, 6-3.

Tori Contreras and Bre Nothstein posted two doubles wins for Atascadero.

Nipomo 12, Pioneer Valley 6

Grecia Peña led Nipomo, sweeping two of her three singles matches 6-0, 6-0.

The Titans took six of nine singles matches.

Nipomo’s Jenny Cardenas and Tessa Underwood swept their three doubles matches 6-1, 6-3, 6-0.

Cabrillo 12, Morro Bay 6

Megan Hansen swept her singles matches 6-0, 6-1, 6-0 for Morro Bay (3-11-1, 2-9-1 LPL).

Templeton 9 (98), Lompoc 9 (80)

Erin Roberts swept her singles matches for the Eagles — who won the match 98-80 by games score — 6-4, 6-2, 6-1.

Danielle Grassi added two wins for Templeton (5-6) to give the Eagles a 6-3 lead heading into doubles play, where Shauna Parker and Gabby Franklin tacked on two wins.
