A new pizza parlor is taking over the Boston Bagel shop in downtown San Luis Obispo. It will be the third Croces Pizza on the California coast and should open in a week to 10 days, said its owner, Sean Croce.
All our stuff is homemade and comes from family recipes, Croce said. I enjoy making people happy through food.
The first two Croces Pizzas are in Monterey; a fourth should open in Santa Barbara on State Street in the next six months, said Adam Buttery, of J.B. Enterprises, the leasing agent who handled the tenant negotiations.
Croce said he and his wife discovered San Luis Obispo on one of their trips down Highway 101.
We fell in love with the area even before we knew the college was here, said Croce, who has now moved to Pismo Beach. Its a little bit of Monterey but with better weather
and its a great place to raise kids.
Croces Pizza will be at 1127 Broad St. The restaurant will be open for lunch at 11 a.m., and will stay open until 3 or 4 in the morning, he said.
The restaurant has 2,500 square feet with more than 40 seats.
If things go well, he will consider remodeling the space to allow for more outdoor dining. Croce says he plans on hiring 35 to 50 part-time employees to handle the long hours.
