The Tribune�s annual award honors community leaders younger than 40 in the county

Nominations are being accepted for The Tribune�s Top 20 under 40 competition. The award, in its fifth year, honors 20 women and men younger than age 40 who have demonstrated leadership in both their professions and communities.

To be eligible, nominees must live and work in San Luis Obispo County year-round and demonstrate a strong commitment to community service.

�It is our hope that each year�s winners make a difference in their companies and communities, demonstrating passion and commitment and providing much-needed leadership and vision,� said Executive Editor Sandra Duerr.

Candidates will be evaluated by a panel of judges from the San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation.

Only one nomination per person will be accepted. Winners will be chosen in early December, and short biographies of each will be published in The Tribune.

Previous winners have represented a diverse group of young talent and have been involved in finance, law, health care, education, business, local government and nonprofit organizations.

Electricraft Inc. is celebrating its 25th anniversary in San Luis Obispo.

Jon P. Treder co-founded Electricraft with his father, William A. Treder, in 1984. They have expanded Electricraft from a small electrical contracting company to one with a staff of more than 25 employees.

Jon Treder�s sons, Wes and Jacob Treder, are vice presidents and do estimating and project management.

Among large projects the company has completed recently are the installation of electrical, data, security and specialty systems for the Superior Court Building in Paso Robles and about 30 miles of fiber optic cable placed along the Nacimiento Water Project pipeline.

Besides commercial and industrial projects, Electricraft performs electrical troubleshooting for residential consumers. Jon Treder is optimistic about the company�s future, because of the �huge opportunities of the green movement,� he said.
