HOW TO SUBMIT TO THE REC CALENDAR

Please send your Recreation Calendar item at least two weeks before the start of your event to sports@thetribunenews.com. Please include a contact number. Only events open to the public will be accepted. Items will run at least once and more times as space permits.

BASEBALL

The Central Coast Men's Baseball League is forming teams for summer. Participants must be at least 21 by Dec. 31 and there is no upper age limit. BASKETBALL

The Five Cities Girls Basketball Camp will be held at Arroyo Grande High on June 11-14. Session 1 (9 a.m. to noon) is for girls entering fourth-sixth grades. The Central Coast Hoops for Girls camp will be held June 18-22 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Morro Bay High. Cost is $60 for Morro Bay residents and $64 for non-Morro Bay residents. The Central Coast Boys Basketball Camp will be held July 16-19 at Nipomo High. The first session (9 a.m. to noon) is for boys ages 7-10. The second session (1 to 4 p.m.) is for boys ages 11-14. CYCLING

The seventh annual Gene Cerise Memorial County Coast Classic Biker ride will be June 23 with ride choices of 25 miles ($35), 50 miles ($40) and 100 miles ($45). EQUESTRIAN

The Atascadero Horsemen¹s Club will host a public trail ride Sunday at the front side of Santa Margarita Lake. The ride will be approximately two hours long. Members and guests should meet in the dirt parking lot near the White Oak picnic area at 9:30 a.m. and be ready to ride at 10. Park fees are $7 per vehicle and $3 per horse. FOOTBALL

National Competition Camps & West Coast Camps is holding signups through June 15 for its second annual full contact Central Coast Youth Football Camp in San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria for ages 8-15. The camp runs from July 18-21. A youth football coaches¹ clinic will also be held. Cost is $125 for the camp and $25 for the coaches¹ clinic. The San Luis Obispo County YMCA is offering a new competitive stunt group and competitive jazz dance team for boys and girls ages 9-14 at its Paso Robles Centennial Park location. Central Coast Gymnastics Sports Center is offering summer camps and a club card program. CCGSC is hosting five weeklong sessions of its Summer Super Camps for boys and girls ages 4-12 and registration is ongoing. HEALTH AND FITNESS

The West Coast Sports Institute will be in Atascadero for a week of summer multi-sports programs for boys and girls ages 5-14 from July 9-13. Cost is $120 for half-day and $155 for full day. The YMCA is offering summer activities throughout the county for all age groups. The program guide can be found at www.sloymca.org under youth and family programs. MARTIAL ARTS

ROLLER HOCKEY

The San Luis Obispo County YMCA will feature three divisions for boys and girls ages 5-17 for its summer roller hockey season, which starts July 9. Cost is $70 and the deadline to register is June 22. A clinic and equipment swap meet is scheduled for June 23 at Santa Rosa Park in San Luis Obispo. Both events are free to the public. RUNNING AND TRIATHLONS

Registration is ongoing for the City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department¹s 28th annual triathlon. The SLO Triathlon is a 1-2-mile pool swim, 15.3-mile bike ride and 3.1-mile run July 22. Register online at www.slotriathlon.org . Walk-in registration is possible at the Parks and Recreation Administration Office. The last day to register is July 13. The cost is $66 per individual or $120 per team. Mission Multisport will host triathlon camps in June and July at Sinsheimer Pool in San Luis Obispo and will also host four one-day intensive courses in general triathlon instruction in August. The group also is hosting the first race in a three-race series, the Avila Bay Athletic Club Aquathlon Series, June 24 at 8 a.m. The series features competitors swimming 600 yards and then running two miles. The second race is Aug. 19 and the third is Sept. 16. Athletes may participate in one, two or all three races as an individual or as a team. The San Luis Obispo County YMCA will offer a five-week running camp in Pismo Beach beginning June 18. Camps are offered in the following age brackets: 5-9, 10-12, 13-14 and 15-18. Cost ranges from $150-$170, along with a $15 registration fee. Registration deadline is June 15. The City of Pismo Beach Recreation Division is holding its annual Stride with the Tide 5k and 10k Fun Run at 9 a.m. Aug. 11. The cost is $15 with a T-shirt or $12 without before July 24. After July 24, it¹s $20 with a T-shirt and $17 without. Aug. 3 is the last day to register at www.pismobeach.org and Aug. 8 is the last day to register at City Hall. The first annual Guadalupe Half-Marathon and 10K Walk will take place July 7. The event starts near Mary Buren Elementary School in Guadalupe and goes toward Santa Maria. The walk begins at 8 a.m. and the half marathon is at 9 a.m. Late registration begins at 7 a.m. Cost is $35 for the half-marathon and $15 for the 10K.
