MERCEDES RESUMES TOURS IN ALABAMA
Free public tours of the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International assembly plant in Alabama's Tuscaloosa County have resumed after a three-year hiatus. The break came during the final stages of a $600million expansion of the assembly plant. From its opening in 1997 until 2004, more than 220,000 people visited the museum and toured the plant. TREKKERS TO EXPLORE EAST TEXAS TRAILS
Walkers can enjoy spring weather in a rural setting with 5K and 11K walks offered Saturday by the East Texas Trekkers at Tyler State Park.
Participants must register and pay a $3 fee, but they can start any time between 8:30 a.m. and noon. Most of the route is on park trails.
East Texas Trekkers is affiliated with the Texas and American Volkssport Association.
Tyler State Park is north of Tyler near FM14 and Interstate 20. Activities there include camping, picnicking, boating, canoeing, paddle boating, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, bird-watching and more.

FOLK FESTIVAL CELEBRATES PIONEER MUSIC, CRAFTS
The Arkansas Folk Festival in Mountain View, Ark., will celebrate the state's pioneers and their music and crafts April 20-22.
Activities will take place on the town square and in Ozark Folk Center State Park.
Concerts featuring Southern mountain music will begin at 7:30 p.m. April 20 and 21.
The folk center's craft village offers demonstrations of traditional pioneer crafts each day. Other activities include a parade, a rodeo, theatrical performances, children's games and more.

MELTING SNOW FILLS LAKES FOR RECREATION
In spite of a continuing drought, lake levels in New Mexico are expected to offer good recreational opportunities for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July due to runoff from melting snow.
State environmental officials said that if substantial spring rains occur, lake levels may even be adequate for Labor Day recreation.
Most New Mexico lakes are expected to have more water on Memorial Day this year than in 2006 or 2005, officials said.
