Morro Bay golf course: Poor Man's Pebble Beach

January 8, 2007

You don’t need to spend a mini-mint to play a course with stunning ocean vistas. At Morro Bay Golf Course (201 State Park Road, 805-782-8060), the tree-lined fairways frame perfect ocean panoramas, the hillside setting challenges golfers of all abilities and greens fees are just $10-$48. The county course inside Morro Bay State Park has been called the "poor man’s Pebble Beach." But with greens fee there upwards of $500, we call Morro Bay the smart man’s Pebble Beach.
