Not far past some of the western-most wineries is Nacimiento Lake (10625 Nacimiento Lake Drive 800-323-3839, 805-238-3256), a beautiful, hill-locked spot where you can boat, fish, waterski, wakeboard, hike, bike, picnic or camp. There are 165-miles of tree-lined shoreline and hundreds of secluded coves to explore. At the marina you can rent aluminum boats, pontoons, deck boats, ski boats, peddle boats, jet skis, canoes and kayaks. Other amenities include a swimming pool, basketball and volleyball courts and horseshoes. Day use fee is $10-$15 per vehicle. Camping (hook-ups available) is $20-$40.
