There are a few even more affordable options in the area. The Links Course of Paso Robles (5151 Jardine Road, 805-227-4567) is designed in the Scottish links style. Greens fees $15-$45. Paso Robles Golf Club (1600 Country Club Drive, 805-238-4722) used to be a private country club but is now open to the public. Greens fees $12-$30. Short on time but still want to get out? Try the six-hole River Oaks Golf Course (700 Clubhouse Drive, 805-226-8099), designed to help players work on their short game. The course can be played in about 50 minutes. Or try the three tee shots, each from a different approach angle, on each hole to string together a full round.
